Botox®: The Liquid "Brow Lift" that Doesn't Require Surgery

Brow lift results without an actual brow lift? It’s not too good to be true. The cosmetic injectable you know and love has helped many sidestep the scalpel and achieve their aesthetic dreams. Learn more about what Botox® can do for droopy brows.

In the past, if you wanted to lift drooping eyebrows and smooth out deep forehead wrinkles, surgery was your best (if not your only) option. But these days, Botox®, the titan of wrinkle reduction, is filling in the gaps and making brow lifts more accessible than ever.

In this blog, Ben Shatil, DO, Allison Santhouse, PA-C, and our team of experts at YS Aesthetics highlight one of the lesser-known functions of Botox injections so you can take advantage of all this neuromodulator has to offer.

Meet the Botox brow lift

You’re likely most familiar with Botox as a sort of magic eraser for wrinkles. However, Botox can also “lift” your features, making it look like you’ve had a surgical brow lift.

A Botox brow lift involves treating the frown lines between your brows. Our strategically placed injections smooth the wrinkled skin on the surface and simultaneously elevate the height of your brow line by relaxing the underlying facial muscles.

As your brow muscles relax, your forehead muscles pull them up to lift your brows and unhood your eyes. We can also inject Botox at the ends of your eyebrows to extend the effects of the lift.

Injections in these areas also reduce the appearance of deep wrinkles called glabellar frown lines — and they do it all without a single incision.

Our ideal candidate

A Botox brow lift is right for you if you have sagging skin around your eyes that can be corrected with muscle lifting.

We only recommend Botox injections for adults 18 years and older, but both men and women with moderate-to-severe frown lines are equally eligible.

You’re likely a candidate if you’ve tried over-the-counter remedies and failed to see results. Many of our patients also seek out a plastic surgeon or eye specialist for a blepharoplasty, or eye lift, to completely overhaul their features.

During your initial consultation, we determine whether a Botox brow lift is right for you. We ask you to hold off on cosmetic injectable treatments if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.

What to expect

If you’ve never gotten Botox (or any cosmetic injectable) before, rest assured that the procedure is quick and virtually painless. We usually have our patients in and out of our office in about a half hour.

When you arrive, you relax comfortably in our treatment chair. We clean and prepare the injection site(s) and carefully administer Botox through strategically placed injections.

Results and recovery following your injection are relatively quick. Over the next few days, you should notice fewer creases and more elevated brows.

After a few months, Botox gradually wears off and leaves your system. When that happens, we’d love to see you back for another round of injections.

Time robs us of our youth and can be cruel to our skin, but you don’t have to accept it. Come talk to us about your concerns, and we’ll connect you with the best aesthetic treatments available, including the Botox brow lift.
